Previously, I have told you how to download megavideo videos and judging from the response of the comments, it seemed like many of you were able to download videos from megavideo successfully. Now you will be able to download files from megaupload as a premium user as well!

How to get Direct Download Links just like a Megaupload Premium user?

All you gotta do is add “mgr_dl.php” (without quotes) before the question mark in a typical megaupload download link with the format “http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EKDABBIK”. If you do not understand then read the following steps carefully and you will surely understand.

1. To download a file hosted at megaupload, you would have a link like this: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EKDABBIK (as you can see in the image below, click for full sized image)



2. Now, all you gotta do is add “mgr_dl.php” before the “?” in the megaupload download link. (See the following image for how your link will look like, click for full sized image)



3. So the megaupload link in the first step will become “http://www.megaupload.com/mgr_dl.php?d=EKDABBIK”
4. Enjoy downloading from this direct download link, just like a megaupload premium user!

Now, to really add functionality to this trick, you would be applying this to a batch of several megaupload links. A quick way of doing this is to copy only the megaupload download links and past them into notepad. Use the “Replace” function under “Edit->Replace…” and give the “Find what:” as “?d=” and the replace with box with “mgr_dl.php?d=”. Then click the “Replace all” button to change several megaupload links to direct download links at once. You can then use these links in your favorite download manager to download all links like a premium megaupload user! Enjoy!

Steps to Download Google Chrome Offline Installer

1. Once you click the “Download Google Chrome” button on the chrome website, you are taken to the google chrome terms of service page which will have an “accept and install” button. If you click the button now, you will only be able to download the 500kb google chrome installer file, which is not the file you need.
2. To download the google chrome offline installer, add “?standalone=1″ (without the quotes) at the end of the url on the address bar so your full url should be http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?standalone=1
3. Once you have added the above line into your address bar and hit the enter button, you will notice that the page will reload but there wont be any noticeable changes. This time, however, if you click the “accept and install” button, you will be prompted to download a bigger sized file around 8-9MB. This is the Google Chrome Offline Installer!
4. Download the file and use it at any computer you desire.

Similarly, if you want to download the latest beta version chrome offline installer, just add the “standalone=1″ parameter at the end of the address bar though you will need to add the “&” sign before this parameter to separate it from the beta version parameter. The final url after you have added the above parameter, should be http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?extra=betachannel&standalone=1

Just a couple of days ago, Stumbleupon, released a url shortening service of their own at su.pr. Much like other services, users will easily be able to shorten their long urls to just a few characters. Today I came across a situation where I needed to convert a doc file to pdf because Microsoft Office wasn’t installed on the computer I was workind on and wordpad wouldn’t open the file either. I quickly asked a friend and he referred me to an online doc to pdf converter at DOC2PDF. I used the site to convert approximately 20 DOC/DOCX files to PDF format. I was very impressed with the service due to several factors:

• Quality: The quality of the converted document was excellent and only required minimum changes.
• File Support: DOC2PDF supports many formats and I was surprised to see they supported DOCX format which is the new format that Word saves documents in Office 2007. Excel and PowerPoint can also be converted to PDF format.
• Images: Embedded images in the original DOC file did not lose much quality during the conversion.
• Speed: The files were converted quite quickly by their server which was an added bonus and saved me quite a bit of time!

In conclusion, I was quite impressed with their service and will definitely be using it again when the need arises.

First Method to Download Imeem Music MP3

Note: This first method only works for downloading imeem music. You cannot download video files using this method. This method only works with Mozilla Firefox.

1. Go to File2HD.com

2. Input the URL of the song you want to download. For example:
http://www.imeem.com/neyo/music/Yp5LGwXJ/neyo_mad

3. Check the agreement box and hit the “Get Files” button.

4. Wait for the website to fetch the download link. You will see one media file listed on the page. I have attached an image so you can see how it is listed.

5. As instructed, right click on the url and choose the “Save Link As…” option. Wait a while for the download to begin. It may begin within a few seconds or it may take up to a couple of minutes.

Second Method to Download Imeem Video and Music Files

This is an unreliable method to download imeem video and music files. You will be required to use Internet Explorer and you will be locating the video file among your temporary internet files. You can use this method to download both imeem music and video files although I would highly recommend you to use the first method to download Imeem Music.

1. Go to the imeem video page and let it load to 100%.

2. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\*USERNAME*\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. This may be different then your temporary file folder so just open the folder by opening Internet Explorer and going to “Tools -> Internet Options -> Settings -> View Files”.

3. You will now locate the temporary file for your video. Sort the folder into descending order by size. Your desired file will have a huge filename and will most likely be in “.gif” extension. It will have one of the largest size and the “Internet Address” column will have a link containing the phrase “imeem”. Locate your file and copy it somewhere else. Rename the extension to “.flv”.

5. You will need a FLV player to play the file. VLC Media Player is also able to play FLV files. To convert the file into another format like AVI, you will need a converter. SUPER is a free converter which you can use.

Third Method to Download Imeem Music or Video

This method involves Internet Download Manager(IDM). It is a world class software and can be helpful to do many tasks easily. Newer versions of IDM enable you to download any streaming content and a button is shown above the video or audio player. IDM has a 30 day fully functioning trial version so you can use it for free for 30 days. You can use this method on either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

1. Go to the IDM download page and start downloading IDM.

2. Install IDM to your computer and be sure to have it integrated into your browsers.

3. Open up any video or music at Imeem.

4. Let the Video or Audio load to 100%. This is very important!

5. Once it is loaded 100%, you can click the “Download this Video” button for IDM, specify your desired location to save the file, and your video will be saved there instantly. If you see more then one file when you click “Download this video”, just try each one in turn and bear in mind that only one of those files will work, the other will give an error.

You can use SUPER(free program) to convert any audio FLV file to MP3. You can also convert it to any other format you want, such as iPod compatible, mp4, .3gp, etc. You can also convert your downloaded video file to several different video formats such as avi, wav, etc.

The system also extracts small samples of audio files so that users can be sure they download the right stuff. For the torrent that contains several audio files there are 4 randomly chosen files that are processed and for each a 20-second sample is made. For videos the engine makes screenshots and puts them with the file. This way visitors can see the quality of the video and make sure the content matches the title. If the video is encrypted or password protected then screenshots will be blank. Such torrents are moderated  so it is hard to bump into those. Text information and archive filelists are also extracted and shown. Usually .nfo files are attached to the content with its description and it is quite handy to be able to read this description right from the site.

Now, the best method that I would suggest to you to find the latest movie torrents and to be sure they are 100% safe, is to join a good private torrent site. A private torrent site is one, in which you are not able to download torrents unless you are a member and you must maintain a minimum ratio of data downloaded and uploaded. Now I created this article to show you how to apply this method quickly and easily. Tempomail is a firefox addon which enables you to quickly make a temporary email address which redirects emails to your real email address and you can set how long before your temp email expires. You will get a temporary email ending with “@tempomail.fr”. The best part is that your temp email address will be created with just a couple of clicks! Here are the steps in using this firefox addon:

1. Firstly, install tempomail addon from here.
2. Go to the site that you want to sign up on and open up the registration page.
3. Right click on the email address box and select tempomail from the list. You will then be asked for your real email address and the time before your email expires. Once you click ok, a temporary email will be put into the email address field.
4. Once you have signed up, you will be asked to confirm your email address.
5. Just go to your real email address that you gave and your confirmation email will be there.

You will no longer receive emails once your temp email address expires. You have an option to let your temp email expire in either 4 hours, 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month.  Here are a couple of screenshots to illustrate what I mentioned in the steps above(click to see full sized image).

First Method to Download Videos from Megavideo
Install the popular firefox extension called Downloadhelper. It is able to download any streaming content running in your firefox browser, so you can easily download videos from ANY video streaming sites with a single click. I personally use this method for downloading megavideo videos and it hasn’t let me down so far. It is simple to use and you can find all instructions at their FAQ page. If you are not able to understand their FAQ to learn how to use the extension, then no worries, I will give you a short step-by-step manual to download videos from megavideo.

1. Install Extension.

2. You will notice a small icon () in the top right hand side of your browser window. If it is not there then right-click on the toolbar and click “customize”. You will certainly see the downloadhelper icon there. Just drag it where you want it to be on your toolbar.

3. Now, whenever you are on a site with streaming content, the downloadhelper button will animate and become coloured. Just click on the button and you will see the link to the different streaming files. Most likely there will only be one file when surfing sites likes megavideo, youtube, dailymotion, etc. Just click the file and the download will begin.

Second Method to Download Megavideo Videos

Although I recommend everyone to use the above method of downloading megavideo videos, I understand that not everyone may have access to firefox. This method is a simple one by which you will locate the temporary video file that is stored on your hard drive. I will only be explaining how to use this method with internet explorer because if you have firefox, then using the first method should be enough.

1. Go to your video on any streaming site and let it load to 100%.

2. Next, you will locate the temporary file in the temporary files folder. To view it you should go to C:\Documents and Settings\*USERNAME*\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. You will need to have the “Show hidden files and folders” option enabled in your folder options to be able to get there. You could also view your hidden files and folders by going to “Tools -> Internet Options -> Settings -> View Files” in your internet explorer browser.

3. Once you have the temporary files folder opened, sort it in descending order by size. Your video file will most probably be one of the biggest on the list. It will be a random long-string of characters. A couple of things you could do to identify your specific file:

• Check the “Internet Address” column. Your file should have something like “megavideo” in there.
• Check the “Last Accessed: column. Your file should have the same exact date and time when you first viewed the video in your browser.

4. Once you have found your file, just copy and paste it to your desired location. Rename the file to your liking and include “.flv” at the end.

5. You will need a FLV player to play the file. VLC Media Player is also able to play FLV files. You could also use a converting software to convert the file to your desired format.

Third Method to Download Megavideo Videos

I have covered two ways to download videos from megavideo using both firefox and internet explorer. The third method works on both of these browsers. Internet Download Manager is a popular download manager used by thousands of people worldwide. In the newer versions of IDM, support for downloading streaming flv files has been added which means you can download videos from all of your favorite streaming websites. IDM has a 30 day trial version which you can use but after the 30 days are over, you will need to either register your IDM or uninstall it.

1. First, download IDM from their download page.

2. Install IDM.

3. Go to any streaming page and view a video.

4. You will notice a “Download this video” button on the top right corner of the video. Click it.

5. Your download will begin. The file will be saved in FLV format.

Google recently announced the releasing of the beta version of their browser called Google Chrome. Google Chrome is an open-source web browser based on Apple’s Webkit Engine. It has only been released for windows so far but google intends to release the mac and linux versions soon as well. I have personally not used chrome so far, but I intend to try it out for a couple of days to see how it is. This is the very first public beta release so there are bound to be bugs and security holes. Google has however made quite an effort to enhance the security of the browser. Sitemark is a free service that allows you to save, organise, and share your favorite websites. It is a relatively new service so there isn’t much going on right now but it promises to be a good place to share your favorite websites and to find new websites shared by other users. One of the most important feature of Sitemark is that it allows you to access your favorite websites from any computer that has internet access. So if you use several computers, you can easily have your favorite websites stored at a single place to access them from any of your computers. I know I will be using sitemark for this purpose.

Today, I will be sharing with you guys a list of the 10 Best P2P File Sharing Software. I recently had a person contact me inquiring about which p2p software he should use. I personally don’t use P2P software that much but there are some files that you will only find there so it does become necessary from time to time. At first, I would suggest any person to use Bittorent but if they dont find their required files there, then p2p becomes an option. When it comes to P2P software, you need to be really careful as to which ones to use or else you can easily clog your computer with adware and spyware. This list should help those people who are looking to use a trustworthy p2p software which will fulfill their needs.

1. Limewire

Limewire is probably the best p2p software available right now. LimeWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing client for the Java Platform, which uses the Gnutella network to search and transfer files among users. Limewire is a free software, released under the GNU License, but it also has a Pro version which enables better optimized search results, faster downloads, tech support, etc.

2. Ares

Ares is a free open source p2p file sharing program that enables users to share any digital file. 9. Kazaa

Kazaa is one of the oldest p2p program and its still kicking! Kazaa has been around for a long time meaning they have many loyal users and lots of files being shared among users. It also features built-in virus protection as well as filters to avoid adult and dangerous files from being shown. You can also customize the toolbars to your liking.

10. StrongDC++

StrongDC++ is another open source p2p software. It shares files through the Direct Connect Network. It is a modification of the program DC++ although it incorporates many other features not found in DC++. Its main features include Segmented File downloading, partial file sharing, download/upload limiter, and customization to the look and feel of the program.

The first site is called gifninja. You can use it to convert your video to gif or your avi to gif. It has a limitation though that it will only convert the first 4 seconds of your video to gif only. If your video is greater then 4 seconds, you should look at this tutorial to help you crop your video down to 4 seconds.  You do not need to register to convert a video. Although if you are hesitant of having your image being shown on gifninja homepage, then be sure to select the “No, don’t allow my picture to be rated” radio button. A lot of file formats are supported by gifninja and the output quality is of good quality.

Below is a video that I converted to gif using gifninja. I downloaded the video from youtube so its of low quality.

The second online video to gif converter is called Blibs. Just like gifninja, you dont need to register to use this tool. It supports the major video file formats but not as many as gifninja. It is a good alternate if for whatever reason you cannot use gifninja. Have fun and enjoy!

You can link your phone with orkut by going into the mobile settings page. This service is currently only available for users in Brazil and India. Furthermore, only Aircel, BPL, MTNL, Reliance, Spice and Tata support this feature so far. The rest will surely implement it soon. You should check with your carrier for the charges for this service. Checking Pagerank of your site after a pagerank update is critical to see how your site has fared. I have already written about Visual Pagerank in this post. Visual Pagerank doesn’t work anymore though but fortunately for us, there is an even better method to check pagerank of internal pages using a firefox extension called Seoquake. You may have heard of it before as it is one of the most common SEO plugin available for firefox. With this little tool, we can easily see pagerank of internal pages for a site in a matter of seconds!

Now, first you will need to install the plugin. You can do that by clicking here. Once installed, you will notice a new icon in the bottom right side of the status bar. This is the SEOQuake icon. You can easily activate and deactivate it by clicking it. Now, to check pagerank of internal pages on your site, just load up google.com. Enter a query like “site:yoursite.com” and press enter. This should display all pages of your site that are indexed by google. By default, you will only see 10 pages per site but you should change that to 100 to quickly see pagerank of all internal pages of your site. Hit preferences on the right of the google search button, and change the number of results per page from 10 to 100. Now activate SEOQuake as well, and load the query. The plugin will now collect data about every page, including its pagerank. You might have to wait a couple of minutes for it to completely load the data. Once done, you can easily arrange the results in descending or ascending order of pagerank, so you can easily view them. See how easy that was? Although it is kind of an old story, but you must have heard the censorship that Veoh has placed on some countries. They have banned a number of people in some specific countries from accessing Veoh and watching videos. So if you are one of those unlucky people in a blocked country, you cannot access veoh. I too, am one of those unlucky ones as Pakistan is one of the countries to be blocked by veoh. I feel this is harsh behaviour from veoh to censor internet for users in the blocked countries. Internet should not be like this.

Anyways, I am about to help all of you people who have veoh blocked as I will help you to access veoh videos again. The simplest way of accessing veoh is to use a proxy. Although well-known proxies have been blocked by veoh so you should use less popular web proxies, in which case you will be able to access veoh. This would be the easiest way but as is the case with proxies, the speeds will be very slow which makes this option not viable. The second option would be to use a proxy server, keeping in mind that it needs to be located in a country that is not blocked by veoh. Proxy servers will also have the same slow speeds like web proxies do. The third option is to use a VPN.

I personally use Hotspot Shield as it is free and fairly decent in speeds. You can use it to bypass veoh blocking system and access and watch veoh videos again. You can download hotspot shield by clicking here. Once you install the software, just enable it and let it connect. After it connects, you can try to access veoh and it should work just fine.

Keep in mind though, hotspot shield offers only 3GB of bandwidth in a 30 day rolling window meaning for any 30 days, you are only allowed 3GB of bandwidth. This should be enough for accessing and watching veoh videos.
