If you have heard of twitter or use it on a regular basis than you would know about the popular URL shortening services like TinyURL or bit.ly or is.gd. Ever since twitter has gained popularity, these url shortening services have been in much demand so that tweets remain within the 140 characters limit imposed by twitter. Not only are shorter URLs used in twitter, but they are used quite frequently on sites like Facebook and Orkut. Having smaller URLs makes the presentation of things much cleaner and nicer.

Just a couple of days ago, Stumbleupon, released a url shortening service of their own at su.pr. Much like other services, users will easily be able to shorten their long urls to just a few characters. Some features of this service include the ability of tracking a certain URL of yours so you can easily view how many times it has been accessed and more. Currently, this service is in closed beta but you can get your invite code by following stumbleupon on twitter. Keep an eye out for invite codes which you can use on that certain day to sign up to the service.
