First of all, I would like to introduce my readers to a new category on technodorm called “Games”. I will be posting about new releases and gaming related posts there. My first post is regarding GTA 4 System Requirements. It was released on April 29th, 2008 for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 while it was released on 2nd December for PC. GTA 4 is the ninth title in the grand theft auto series.
Grand Theft Auto 4 has received many awards since its release and has gained immense popularity. It sold more then 3.6 million copies worldwide on the first day of its release while grossing more then $500 Million in its first week.
GTA 4 Minimum System Requirements
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz or equivalent AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
- Memory/RAM: 1GB for XP and 1.5GB for Vista
- Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 or 256MB ATI X1900
- Hard Disk Space: 16GB free
- Operating System: Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP1
GTA 4 Recommended System Requirements
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz or equivalent AMD Phenom X3 2.1GHz

I have a Core 2 Quad 2.33ghz CPU with 4gb ram and a 9800GT-OC grafix card, with Vista Ultimate, I play the game at full graphixs without any problems. You guys should upgrade.
P.S. I DID save for 9 months to buy this comp…

OMG…whats the deal with the i7′s not being able to run the game…You’d think that’d be the best way to go. From what i’ve gathered, its still a quad core with either a really really good graphics card, or a quad core with 2 good graphics cards. My triple core is doin aight i guess, medium settings. some mod can change the frame rate to go faster but it cuts the draw distance
look! why dont you all just get an alienware, falcon(12gb ram) or velocity… prices range from usd$6000.00-usd$8000.00

yo honestly yall, i dont see a whole lot of hope for any dual core. Thats just my opinion. My triple core is at 3.1ghz, and it runs on pretty low settings. I got 6gb of memory, my graphics card is a 6400gt. I’d say to buddy right above me, you may need some more ram, and some ghz on that processor. Alienware computers cost so much its rediculous. I’ve always wanted to get one tho. I checked out a used one on craigs for $600 that came with a freakin p4…PASS! If your not able to afford the alienware $$$ bucket, just upgrade your sht. Its gonna have to happen sooner or later. AMD if your ballin on a budget. Intel if your good, and alien stuff if your BAAALLIN!

I’ve got a AMD Phenom X4 9500 2.2 GhZ Quad, Sapphire Radeon 512 MB video, 4 Gig DDR2 RAM and Realtek sound card with Vista Home Premium. Bought PC for 700 Euros and it works, sort of. I get @ 1280×1024 32-bit MAX everything about 10 frames, but when I lower the settings, I don’t see any boost in performance:(
dude………WTF!!………….vice city requireed only 128 mb ram…………..that waz awesome…..coz anyone could play it………..but now with these specs i dont think anyone will!!!

I honestly think Im just gonna leave GTAIV for the systems…cause you need a super machine to play it it seems like, and i dont have the chips for no alienware or any interest in buying another computer…FCK that. My sht cost too much for me to consider replacing it…plus it looks cool. Im stickin to mods for san andreas on the pc. I’ll just buy the ps3 version of gta4 b/c nobody even plays online for pc anyways…prolly cause nobody’s computer can play the fcking game…YO DENNIS_DDOG, did your game have bad lag? JUBUZZ, it’ll work, prolly medium settings, my processor is the same as yours, i just overclocked it. I’d look into upgrading the graphics card maybe tho. mine is a 9400gt and it does the job…but its no over achiever

well i have a one but 3.0 and it’s running best graphics on 2gb ram 512 Geforce nvidia 7300gt and the good news am not rich
so no need to get rich to get core 2 quad it’s only worth 300$ in my region

You should be able to play the game on pretty high setting, if not max. Have fun playing it!

Your graphics card is not capable of playing this game. You need to upgrade it.
