Today, I will be sharing with you guys a list of the 10 Best P2P File Sharing Software. I recently had a person contact me inquiring about which p2p software he should use. I personally don’t use P2P software that much but there are some files that you will only find there so it does become necessary from time to time. At first, I would suggest any person to use Bittorent but if they dont find their required files there, then p2p becomes an option. When it comes to P2P software, you need to be really careful as to which ones to use or else you can easily clog your computer with adware and spyware. This list should help those people who are looking to use a trustworthy p2p software which will fulfill their needs.
1. Limewire
Limewire is probably the best p2p software available right now. LimeWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing client for the Java Platform, which uses the Gnutella network to search and transfer files among users. Kceasy is a safe and completely free p2p program that supports gnutella, ares, and openFT networks. KCeasy is an open source project so you can rest assured that its spyware and adware free. It currently supports only WIndows OS but you can try Poisoned for MacOS.
8.iMesh
iMesh is probably the best p2p software for downloading music and videos. It boasts of having over 15 million free songs and videos. It comes in 9 different languages which include english, french, dutch, spanish among others. It also has a mini player which allows you to play music and video files from within iMesh.

It is a modification of the program DC++ although it incorporates many other features not found in DC++. Its main features include Segmented File downloading, partial file sharing, download/upload limiter, and customization to the look and feel of the program.

Hidden errors slow down system performance - FACT.
Think this a great page came across it by mistake and now added to my favs,my least fav p2p is my 1st one limewire who charged me for hooking me up with frostwire(which is free lol),i am i must admit a bit naieve around p2p fle sharing and so going to try imesh.
Smashing page,and very helpful….thanks
even though they say imesh is #8 it is actualy the best and that goes for bearshare too limewire is charging you for it and u would need java so good choice.
I am using imesh, but after a few months of use, it now will not allow me to download 1 song. It keeps showing a popup that says my imesh trial has expired. I can continue, if I extend my subscription which COSTS!! I thought this site was totally free!!! Deceit in advertizing!
SoMud is the best yet not even on the list.
somud is amazing program indeed!
music, movies, etc are what most guys that go for this p2p are looking for,
I`M LOOKING FOR VARIOUS COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND APPLICATIONS.
SO WHICH OF THIS P2P SOFTWARE OR TORRENT OFFERS THE BEST???????
of course limewire 5.2
your best bet for programs is rapidshare.com and torrents (try using utorrent, ported for Win and Mac).
Then just go to crackspider.net to get the cracks (if they aren’t in the torrent). Be sure to have your firewall guard up though. A program like Sandboxie keeps you from getting any viruses.
Where is that picture of the rainbow people doing the zorba from ?
Is it the logo for some other software of company ?
No, I don’t know its origin. I found it by searching for “p2p” on google images.
instead of using google use ask.com depending what u r asking.
Hate Limewire! I can never find anything I am looking for, and it seems to make the computer run slower.
Thanks for this wonderful informative page!
I use limewire for just about everything. It works decent as long as you use Bitzi to confirm files are legit. What would be a good torrent program that works better than Limewire for video? Are they also Bitzi capable?
I’m following up to my last post on 8/17. I just started using Utorrent and it is awesome!! Use Utorrent along with Vertor and you can pretty much find anything you seek. (please use responsibly and at own risk). Happy searching!
i came across this website… it is amazing … i think that ares is the best is show where its downloading from and downloads from many people at once …. one bad thing is it goes kinda slow but it has its own internet and chat tabs so now you have something to do when you wait
isohunt with utorrent.
What about mp3 rocket? Its one that isn’t found on any of these sites that talk about p2p file sharing software and I use it daily with excellent results..
MP3 Rocket is the bomb for real.. u r right .. even though it doesn’t get the recognition as some of the others in my opinion it works even BETTER!
…where is Utorrent in this top 10 p2p software???where is Azureus,Bitcomet,????everybody talks about limewire…but for me utorrent stands and will always remain the best…!!!! Greetings and Happy Seeding….!!!!and downloading of course!
I think you never tried FlashGet
http://www.flashget.com/index_en.htm
I found another very good p2p software somud, nice ui, lots of useful features,
http://www.somud.com
by the way, it runs both windows and mac
limewire died!! today!!!
Limewire has been shut down by court order.
Help. I used Limewire until they got shut down. I use SonicStage player that came with a sony walkman mp3 player. Since, then I have tried downloading from bearshare, imesh, and several others, but after the song download, I get an error message saying that sonicstage cannot play the file. Has anyone else had this problem or know a way to fix it?
Thanks
CJ – did you ever resolve this problem. I’ve been using Bearshare for years now and all of the sudden I am unable to play any file(s).
I’ve been working with BS support however they have been unsuccessful.
Appreciate any info on the progress you’ve made.
After limewire was shut down back in Nov. Here lately I have google the website for p2p similar to limewire. I try bearshare I am kind disappointing with bearshare because it does not tell you that it a trail period and the music you have download stop working altogether. Because before the time period is up they ask you for a $ 1.00 fee which actively is a $ 9.99 a month fee. Now with limewire which was 34.00 for the whole entire year was less expense then bearshare.
Somud suprised me big time.I`ve tested all of the file sharing programs there is and somud is all you need.Frostwire, limewire and bareshare are known as the filesharing who have all the tools you need.Well that was before i found somud.Thanks.
I know SoMud from this site. god, love it so much. basically, it is not just a torrent downloader, many useful features. It seems a recent newcomer. But great to see its comingup!
Thats not even 1% of all your p2p download apps, torrent is the best rather than p2p sucks! don’t be a fool some p2p will cost you so be a ware of it rather than torrent go to google look for torrent sites.
Ever since i had my own comp and everyone was using limewire ive used a program called Cabos
but a few days ago the program wont start and ive tried uninstalling and different updates on it but still nothing im shopping around for another but none seem to match up to how good Cabos was
I’ve been using Frostwire and it’s been tickin me off. I believe that they’re trying to shut down all p2p. When I download a file from FrostWire aka LimeWire little bro I only download at 120 kp/s that’s pretty damn slow but better then nothing. Everyone, go to FrostWire and we join there, everything will get faster. I am disappointed just like you ppl. I had LimeWire Pro and I was downloading files at 4 to 500 kp/s!! I was getting any movie in 20 mins!! Now I have to have patience and that’s not my style. Join FrostWire, it runs off Limewire’s Torrents!! Do it then maybe we can get our files faster and cleaner.
I’ve used Limewire (and Pro), Frostwire, and MP3 Rocket. Limewire Pro and MP3 Rocket charge and Frostwire was always free. But my Frostwire is unstable and constantly needs to be re-downloaded. I came to this site seeking alternatives. Ares is not free either.
Its too bad that limewire got taken down. It was one of the easiest to use and fastest of the group. Honestly just stick to torrents and use Utorrent. Also I would consider getting a VPN. I use Hide my Ass they have a amazing VPN that encrypts all your traffic and servers all over the world. Here is the link to the website with much more information.

limwire is a good one but now its a piece of shit they blocked it!!! npow you cant do a damn thing w/,. it@!!
Frostwire is dead too. When you DL a song, you don’t get the song. Instead, you get a recorded message that tells you to claim your “free” prize as part of the court-ordered Limewire settlement. Does anyone really think they’re going to give you a free prize just for being a Limewire user? C’mon. I think it’s a way to gather ISP addresses and come after you for illegal DLs. Beware…and forget Frostwire!
Hey Johnny this is just something I found on the Frostwire Wiki while searching for an alternative to Limewire.
“The recording industry has been accused of trying to make FrostWire unworkable by introducing multiple copies of junk files when searches are performed. For example, if one searches for Elvis Presley, numerous files called simply ‘Elvis Presley’ or ‘Elvis Presley (High Quality)’ etc. will be listed in the results. Generally, these are either recordings of white noise or a fake advertisement. Often times, they are a recording saying things such as ‘Warning, This MP3 download is illegal.’ However, these files can be blocked by using the built-in filter.”
Hope this is what you are talking about, this war against file sharing is getting a little ridiculous. It has been going on for over 10 years, starting with the lawsuit against Napster. As long as they keep shutting down our programs, there will be someone out there making a new one and file sharing will continue just as it has since it began.
Limewire was amazing, Frostwire was a pain, iMesh was a waste of time, BearShare was worth it (until it came time to download lesser known materials), UTorrent didn’t work on my last computer AT ALL, most other torrent only programs are just as much of a pain…
And I can get direct downloads from countless websites any day of the week, just by spending a little time searching on Google.
Unfortunately, LimeWire is NOT coming back, and most other programs just aren’t up to par with LW, don’t waste you time by thinking “I heard this program was like LimeWire” because nothing is like LimeWire (No offense FW).
All of you out there sitll looking for a way to download music/videos illegally online: Search google a little more, and stop reading pages like this. They do NOT help as much as you think.
And for what sites I download from? If I say that much, then I will directly bring about their downfall. But I will say this: I did a search on Google a few months ago, and have been using a site that I found on the first page with the search titled..
Download free music online no registration
And that was all he wrote!
BEWARE…BEARSHARE IS IMESH…, & IT SUCKS!!!!!
This needs to be updated. It is less than a week away from 2012 and I know Limewire does not exist any more. I have had nothing but problems with bearshare and frostwire. This should be updated 2 go with the new windows and programming that is out there.
Where are Vuze and eMule ???
ares try it
